「eN」は、髪を切るという行為がより身近に、より特別になる美容ハサミです。
このプロジェクトはひとりの美容師の「ファーストカットからエンディングカットまで、人生に寄り添うコミュニケーションツールとしてのハサミをつくりたい」という想いから始まりました。
カッティングとセニングのふたつのシザーは、プロの美容師が使う品質をそのままに、家庭でも安全に扱いやすいよう、サイズから刃幅、細部に至るまで、膨大なリサーチと検証のもと確かな安全性と操作性を追求し徹底的にデザインされています。一般的な美容バサミに比べ小さめにデザインされており、どなたの手にも馴染み、幅広いシーンで使用頂けるサロンクオリティのシザーです。
カッティングシザーは、全く抵抗のない滑らかな開閉で、手にとった瞬間に驚きとともにその違いを実感して頂けることでしょう。緩やかな弧を描いた刃は、点で接することで心地良いほど滑らかな切れ味をもたらし、髪のダメージを最小限に抑えます。
セニングシザーは、これまでのセニングにはない極限まで抑えられたスリムな刃幅によって、一層扱いやすくデザインされています。心地よいほど滑らかな切れ味によって、多くの人が苦い経験として記憶にあるような「髪が引っ掛かる」ということはほとんどありません。一切りで切れる毛量の比率を示す「スキ率」を低めに設計することで、思いがけない切り過ぎを防ぎ、快適にご使用頂けます。
カッティング／セニングともに、親指と薬指を通すリングは一般的なリングの断面形状と全く異なり、それぞれの指の角度に合わせて異なる断面形状をデザインすることで、より自然な使い心地を実現しています。先端は丸みをもたせることで肌あたりにも配慮し不意の怪我を防ぎます。また、ハサミを使用する際の「音」にもこだわり、リング同士が当たるには、音を抑えるラバー製と、カチカチと音がなる金属製、2種類のヒットポイントを用意しました。
製造は、世界三大刃物産地のひとつである岐阜県関市。受け継がれてきた職人の卓越した技によって、研ぎや磨き、組み立てなど数十にも及ぶ工程の一つひとつに真摯に向き合い仕上げられ、精緻なデザインを形づくっています。弊社ではプロダクトのデザインはもちろん、製造を委託する企業の選定から量産の管理まで包括的な監修を行っています。
長く快適に使用できる確かな道具として、扱いやすさを追求した造形と職人の技の集積をタイムレスなデザインに仕立てました。

This project began with a hairstylist's vision: ‘To create scissors that serve as a communication tool accompanying life, from the first cut to the final one.’
Both the hair cutting and thinning scissors, we have meticulously designed through extensive research and prototyping. From size and blade width to every detail, we designed to maintain the quality professional hairstylists use while being safe and easy to handle at home.
eN Hair Cutting Scissors are designed slightly smaller than standard salon shears, allowing them to fit comfortably in any hand and making them suitable for a wide range of uses while maintaining salon-level quality. The effortlessly smooth, resistance-free opening and closing will surprise you the moment you hold them, instantly revealing their exceptional difference. The gently curved blades make point contact, delivering an exceptionally smooth cutting sensation while minimizing damage to the hair.
eN Thinning Scissors are designed slightly smaller than standard salon shears, ensuring a comfortable fit for any hand and making them versatile for a wide range of uses while maintaining salon-level quality. With an exceptionally slim blade width—unlike conventional thinning scissors—they offer enhanced ease of handling and refined control. Their effortlessly smooth cutting action minimizes hair snagging, providing a pleasant, seamless experience. The “thinning ratio,” which indicates the percentage of hair removed in a single cut, is intentionally designed on the lower side. This prevents accidental over-thinning and allows for more comfortable, precise styling.
The rings worn on the thumb and ring finger feature a cross-section design entirely distinct from conventional rings. By tailoring the cross-section shape to each finger's natural angle, they achieve a more comfortable, natural fit. The rounded tips ensure gentle contact with the skin and prevent accidental injury. Furthermore, meticulous attention was paid to the “sound” produced when using scissors. To minimise noise when rings collide, two types of impact points were developed: a rubber version that dampens sound and a metallic version that produces a distinct clicking sound.
Manufacturing takes place in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, one of the world's three major cutlery production centres. Through the exceptional skills of artisans passed down through generations, each of the dozens of processes – including sharpening, polishing, and assembly – is approached with utmost sincerity, resulting in the creation of meticulously crafted designs. We provided comprehensive supervision, encompassing not only product design but also the selection of manufacturing partners and the management of mass production.
Crafted from premium cutlery-grade stainless steel, these scissors combine ergonomic shaping with the accumulated skills of master artisans, resulting in a timeless design that ensures long-lasting comfort, reliability, and ease of use.
