flower vase | prototype

Something as simple as a flower vase comes in myriad varieties across the world, varying in material, size, shape, and color. Even with all this diversity, however, the flowers in a vase are nearly always decoratively arranged as a bunch.
“RIDGE” was designed with the idea of creating a vase in which flowers are not bunched.
Instead, flowers are arranged in a row, as if planted in a flower bed or ridge, creating a kind of sculptural space that appears natural and entirely new.
The choice of marble as the material—hard with an air of tension—generates a contrast that makes the flowers stand out all the more, and also lends a sense of stability, despite the long, thin distinctive form of the vase.
Even indoors, the row of flowers emanates a sense of landscape.
